Genotyping of the Sources of Resistance to Bacterial Wilt in Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) with Respect to Fertility-Restoring Gene Interacting with Male Sterile Cytoplasm

Abstract
Genotypes with respect to fertility-restoring gene interacting with male sterile cytoplasm of sources of resistance to bacterial wilt (Ralstonia solanacearum) were identified by crossing with a cytoplasmic male sterile tester (Srfrf) and observing the male fertility of the F©ûplants. Selections of MC4, PBCO66, PBC631, PI1358812, and PI322727 were identified as restorers (N(S)RfRf), whereas a selection of MC5 as a maintainer (Nrfrf). Progeny of the pollen parents were confirmed uniformly resistant to bacterial wilt.
